As there are no swivel pivots available for the 4 seat, I decided to make my own. Phoenix Designs used to make a set, so Jon was kind enough to send me details of them,.

I made a few adjustments to his design - on mine the top bolt hole on the plate is threaded, I can unscrew the bolt to drop the hood, and then screw it back in when I've tensioned it back up Ordered a couple of stainless thumbscrews to make it easier.

Plan B - going to try a couple of index plungers for the top bolts.....

Hello tbm. They look good. How did you get on with them in their final form? Did you use plungers? I have a 4 seater and spent an hour this afternoon failing to connect up at the front. So I am very interested in anything which could resolve the problem. I’ve even considered leaving the frame only part erected until all the fastening are in place, but I wonder if that might present problems of its own.

I feel your pain - was almost impossible to get the last couple of front end fittings connected when the hood was cold. With my new pivots it's a doddle.

Didn't use plungers as they stuck out too far and as they were metal was worried that they'd rub through the hood.. Used some bolts with plastic thumb screw style ends so I can tighten/loosen by hand and they won't damage the hood. Example in pictures:

Drop me a PM with your email address and I can send you over the original designs I was given. I have adapted mine, but you'll see how when you compare the design with my images,
