By extending the rad perch's You can get a bit more room for a puller fan. When I replaced my pusher fan and rad with an alloy rad and puller fan I noticed the old rad was clogged with all sorts of insects. Well cooked mind you.

By moving the bottom mounts to the furthest point, and reversing the top mount, managed to get the 10" fan in with about 5mm clearance on the bottom crossmember. Decided to go with the 'pull through' clips, and will see how I get on with them. The fan is a Revotec 10" Sucker/Puller Code FAN0220.. Will finish the wiring tomorrow - it's getting a bit cold and dark out there.
Also fitting a 92 degree thermostat in the hope of getting a bit of heat in the cab.

Heaters in Mogs are normally pretty powerful beasts. I removed the Smiths Fug Stirrer from the footwell, as it was completely ineffective. I've fitted an upgraded heater, but the fan (even on the lowest setting) soon cools the matrix and engine too much and the heat drops. (it reads at the bottom of the 'N' on the gauge).. I'm hoping the combination of electric fan, and new thermostat will get the engine up to temp quicker, and then maintain heat better.

Heaters in Mogs are normally pretty powerful beasts. I think that's a relatively recent development, John. The short door cars had pretty puny arrangements.

my 94 & 97 short door cars were fine but I know the early ones were weaker. That's good, John. I thought the better heaters came with the long-door cars as all the ones I've been in have excellent heaters. My 1986 car is utter rubbish in this regard. A poxy little axial fan with two speeds: slow, or slow and noisy. I can fart more warm air than it can push out. That's why I'm so keen to learn more about Phil's upgrade.
