My 4/4 has been outside for 14months now, with just a morganhoods cover (more to keep it away from prying eyes). Four bikes down the side of the house, no covers. (and have been for 25+ years)

I have no garage

As mentioned, regular use and good servicing is the key.

Your nearest approved dealer is probably now Bell & Covill who, in my experience, are excellent.

Good to know 2014 is they key year for when the factory sorted some of the big issues, but that a well sorted earlier car is viable. And you've confirmed my suspicions that a well used car might be a safer bet as any issues are more likely to have already surfaced. I will buy on condition and history rather than age or mileage.

Are there any particular options I should be looking for that make the car easier to live with?

Will heed the advice on keeping it outside. It sounds like it's possible but not the best idea. I think I'll investigate renting a garage nearby, but not sure I'll be able to get one I can easily walk to. I did consider a carcoon before but I thought they were held down under the car's wheels, so a 3 wheeler won't be compatible. Has anyone used a carcoon with an M3W? If it works that might be my best bet.

A sheet of plywood under the rear wheel the width of the Carcoon will solve any problems.

If the option is a Morgan outside or no Morgan I would opt for the Morgan outside and accept that stuff may not stay as perfect as I would want it. I tell myself that regularly anyway as life happens. To me there is nothing more fun than driving the Morgan around and even though I am not normally one to draw attention to myself it is fun seeing the smiles on people’s faces and the reaction by kids though you have to be prepared that when you come to a stop or get gas high odds of getting a lot of redundant questions and comments.

Options stage 1 and 2 from the factory if feasible as the Morgan runs so much better. I would also select the full windscreen and heated seats. If outside I would revisit the chrome pack as I am not sure how well that would do vs the elements plus it is a very expensive option but that is just my opinion.

Not sure about the bright pack but it is indeed more expensive for sure. Mine came with the headlamps and the roll hoops in bright but I did not order it extra and they are holding up fine although it is pampered in an insulated heated garage.

Murphaj, further to my previous post the Machine Mart motorcycle garage would suit I think, 12 ft long and 6 ft wide, currently on SALE too! You’d have to be careful when garaging tho cos that engine and exhausts get very very hot!

Given that an M3W is unlikely to be driven in inclement weather, then why not get a Pedelec to ride to the garage? You can leave it in the garage whilst out in the car. You can easily average 12mph, so a 10 minute ride extends your radius to 2 miles.

Some of my neighbours have clubbed together and rented an industrial workshop/storage unit a couple of miles from their houses, they keep at least 6 cars and RVs there, plus assorted motorcyles and other kit. They pay £100/month each for it.
