I'm interested to see the different GPS mounts in your M3w. There are lots of solutions out there so what works for you? ☺

I would like to know how fast I am going and that would be a reason for a phone or gps.

I wanted something unobtrusive when I wasn't using it (which is most of the time) but secure enough to hold my phone for directions on looong trips. I wound up with this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M0DUVZV/

Mounted in the Morgan it looks like:

I also have a usb cable snaking up under the lip that is hidden and unused most of the time but I can pull out to keep my phone charged.

In general I'm really happy with it, I just wish I could get it plain black without the logo.

That looks like a nice solution👍 Is the logo painted on? If not then put some thin vinyl over it.

The RAM ball mount system looks like a very neat solution. The components are all available on Amazon, including the ball mount which replaces one of the standard dash bolts with a discrete black ball.
(Now attempting my first link and embedded photo.)

Here's the thread recommending it, scroll down to the 6th post. (Thanks to Smaug!)

And here's the parts I have waiting for my M3W, which entered production this week.

I'll second the RAM mount. The mount itself is very neat, if anything looks slightly quirky so fits in well when not in use. I've used mine for Satnav, phone and Gopro. Simple and works.

Hello Landy! Another one with the RAM mount! Clean, neat, practical and it doesn't look so bad…

The pictures of mine are holding and iPhone XS Max. So a quite large smartphone. Despite the vibrations, it does hold the phone quite well. It doesn't slip or move. It just shakes with the whole car rofl

You'll need:
- RAM® Ball Adapter with M6 x 1 Threaded Female Hole - Reference RAM-B-273-M6U
- RAM® Double Socket Arm (the short one) - Reference RAM-B-201U-A
- RAM® X-Grip® Large Phone Holder with Ball - Reference RAM-HOL-UN10BU
- M6 long nut. Use a really long one, as you'll cut it to length.
- Washer

I've done it this way:
1- screwed the long nut into the ball adadpter with M6 female hole, using nut / srew fixing Loctite (or similar) blue glue.
2- I removed the M6 nut from the dashboard. The bottom one in front of the co-pilot seat. and used it as a reference to cut the long nut I inserted into the ball adapter.
3- Saw the long nut so it matches the length of the dashboard nut that will be screwed / inserted.
4- Use a metal file to retouch the thread where you cut, to assure it will enter properly and smooth into the dashboard.
5- with the washer to avoid the nut damage the dashboard, you screw the ball adapter. Not too hard. I was a Little concerned about the inner thread of the dashboard, so I did not applied too much torque. Use also screw fixing liquid.

The whole can take you 20minutes. Easy. Really easy with the appropriate tools.

The Good thing of the RAM mount is that you have plenty of accessories apart so you can even fix an earth-air missile battery shades

Hope this helps.

Regards
