I think you are right to a large degree - the New Plus 4 is less likely to appeal to trad Plus 4 and, in particular, 4/4 owners.
The new Plus 4 is closer to the Roadster in terms of power but my feeling is that most Roadster owners will not be tempted. The Roadster pushes the trad to the limits of its traditional set up, but it works and delivers that power whilst preserving those vintage driving characteristics we all love. And it's those vintage driving characteristics that I think will persuade most Roadster owners to stick with their cars. It's not just about the power for many Roadster owners but the vintage nature of the car and its handling. I'm not convinced that the new Plus 4 will offer anything more than a modern, safe and environmentally better car with modern handling characteristics and comforts that will make it easier to live with - and that it will be all the duller for it.
Quicksilver, I had three Roadsters 3.0 and I really liked them all in their own way. It doesn't have to be the big contrast in performance from the new PlusFour to the weaker but lighter 4/4 to get the trueTrad feeling. The Roadster also gives the classic feeling that many of us appreciate so much. Nowadays there are both worlds and both offers. And that is a good thing. I understand you, Quicksilver, who sees it the same way as I do, but I also understand Peter J, for example, who was not really befriended with his roadster. As for me, I'm happy with my 4/4 but if I wanted (and will or can afford) to have another Morgan with a lot of power I would give the PlusFour at least a test drive before I would make a decision.

I've just had to sit down and have a long chat with myself. When I bought the Morgan one of the reasons was that I'd been forever chasing the latest thing looking for the perfect car. Hours pouring over reports and specifications etc. That all ended when I bought the Plus 4. I didn't need to chase anything - it was just a pure driving experience. Timeless. Then this new Plus Four and I'm back in the old cycle again - faster, more toys, better. Hm.

Did you have a Plus 4 SS at one stage Heinz? If it's you then I have seen your fantastic driving videos on You Tube and have saved them to my library. What a great sound that car made.

Yes, Quicksilver, regarding the YT videos in North Italy. It was a nice car! Perhaps ..if the remap had been offered at the time I still would have her. But as it was she was too much exhaust smelling, and also too loud when driving on the left side where the TBs are.

I'm glad the PlusFour looks so good. This gives me the opportunity to continue to identify myself with Morgans products. If the PlusFour were a narrower PlusSix, it would not be so. However, I would not exchange my 4/4, even if I had the money. For me, a Morgan was always a vintage car with a modern engine. This was Morgan's unique selling point for decades. Best of two worlds. To understand: if Morgan wouldn't exist, I would drive a MG TC or so...

I’m sticking with my XXVII chassis Mog for this Summer but I’m seriously considering the Plus Four as a future Mog
I’ll wait for a test drive when Oakmere have their demo car and give it some thought During your visit was there any mention of a future 4 seater at all as I know that suits your family well ? The chap I spoke to said it would be unlikely although it’s not been ruled out for definite MMC have their eyes close to the situation in the USA and this low volume vehicle act which has been stalled by The Federal National Safety Vehicle agency (or whatever it’s called) and the bills sponsors are using the courts to push it through as its stalling jobs in the US They are hoping the Plus Six could then be a goer in the US

That's really good news on the Plus Six and the Stateside that will make a big difference to MMC. Would I? - Yes, it's a nice looking car with a modern underpining, I am sure it drives very well.
Will I? - Probably not - the cost to change is just too high from my current plus 4. The new price has move this firmly "upmarket"
But I look forward to driving one and comparing it to mine. This is it in a nutshell !
