So today was an exercise in patience. After one broken bandsaw blade, one carbide insert and 4 attempts on my life, I got the hex tube cut and fit to the end plates. Next is to clearance the tube for the starter. After that I will tack weld the assembly together enough for mock up until I verify I am happy with the length of the drivetrain.

Today I got the hex tube cut for the starter and made the locating dowels for the transmission. The dowels will press into the plate. Next up is to tack weld it all together, but it's essentially completed now.

Excellent, keep 'em coming, were going to need some engineering porn to look at whilst on lockdown for the next few weeks

Yeah we are the same here except I got laid off from my job a week before this crap hit us. Then the wife is temporarily laid off due to the virus (teacher) so I am not able to spend any cash on this project until I can find a new job. Luckily I have everything I need on hand to finish this part of the project. On the flip side I have had plenty of time to work on the project and prepare for the next phase.

They do say 'every cloud has a silver lining' so maybe a chance to crack on and get some more work done....?
