Morgan should offer you a job. You certainly have the skills.

Good luck with the job hunt.
If you need any information to help with your job hunt there is a very useful book that is worth a look.
“What Color is Your Parachute”
It is not a book to read - it is a book to work through.

Thanks for the words of support guys. The bad part is nobody is even interviewing due to covid. We will get through it and hopefully without having to tap into the 3 wheeler fund.

So last night I was thinking about the thread engagement and strength of the aluminum plate to carry the load of the Miata transmission. Since I got time and some steel hex stock, I decided to make threaded bushings and press fit them into the plate. They are M12 thread and provide 3/4" of steel thread engagement. Much better to my liking now. I also had a few "extra" holes from fixturing and a mistake on my part that I decided to make press in plugs for just to clean it up. as you can see in the one picture it fits perfect on the Miata Transmission. Tomorrow I plan on tack welding the assembly together.

The Marriage of the misfits..
The intermediate housing is tacked up and for the first time the BMW engine has a Mazda Miata transmission. The only thing holding it together right now is the locating dowels but they all line up and fit. This may just work after all....

I also cut the miata starter ring gear off to reduce some rotating mass at the largest diameter.

Not much to update on. With the Covid 19 crap and being laid off not much has been going on in this area. I did start to play around 3d modelling the frame for the 3 wheeler and get an idea how much steel I will need when this is all over. Still got a long way to go but it's a start.

Thanks again for the update, she's looking like a nicely safe cockpit.

As a matter of interest, I am sure this build will cost you a lot less than the real thing, but as your original motivation was to design something less snug than the original did you consider buying one with the narrow transmission tunnel produced by Morgan Park in Hamburg?

I didn't know such a thing even existed. I am sure it would still be very cost prohibitive in my case. I feel I can build mine for about 12k USD and have it be well equipped and equal in performance. Interesting option though.
