I don't have the problem but very interesting reading for future reference and a fantastic write up from Heinz especially in his second language. This is what forums are about to me.

I have found a broken terminal on the brake pedal switch.
1. There are two switches, is this a back-up feature?
2. Do they do different things?
3. Could this be causing some kind of voltage spike affecting the accelerator?
Luckily I’ve got 7 foot arms so I can undo the little guard that’s bolted through the floorboards

And do I have to adjust the switch when I replace it or is it just bolt in?

Ive noticed there are two brake pedal switches on mine too but don't know why either. Can anyone else tell us?
Are the brake lights still working with only one switch working? Its unlikely but could one switch be for the high level brake light? Easy to check for both I suppose.
If you replace the faulty switch I would take a photo of its placement before removing. I assume that both are adjusted the same amount.
Finally I would have thought that the brake light switch is a separate problem than the loss of power unless someone can explain otherwise!

Rob, the second switch is the stop fueling signal to the ECU when you brake.

Interesting- if the stop fuel switch to the ecu has a bad connection, what might be the result, I wonder?
