Does anyone have an idea of the distance between the belt and rear tire. My belt is about 1/10 of an inch away and is rubbing the tire on decelerations I believe as I hear a bit of a strange noise. My sidewall is a bit messed up so need to fix it. My tire is a little low on air but I suspect my belt is a bit too loose. Any measurements would be appreciated.

I know it is not an exact measurement but you can see about 3/8" gap.

The clearance looks fine to me. However, your belt appears to be running hard up against the outer sprocket guide which may account for your 'strange' noise? There is a danger that the belt might snag on the guide causing the guide to break. Therefore, some people remove the outer guide completely.

There appears to be some staining where the filler pipe is welded to the fuel tank. Has the weld split? This happened to my car. Check that the tank straps are good and tight.

Andy the OP had a question that I was trying to answer. For me, the tire has been changed since the top photo and everything realigned. The staining as you called it is mud, you can see water everywhere and I had not finished wiping it down.

I currently am working on other projects and had the car in the air so I took the photo of the belt to tire clearance.

Thanks for the picture as I appreciate the help. My belt is definitely closer to the tire and is running on the outside of the sprocket away from the tire. I will tighten up my belt a bit and move the front of the rear tire over a bit and see if that helps. If that does not work I will look at the swing arm if that can be shifted over. I guess this is one of the challenges when you start fiddling with things and changing the bevel box mount.

If anyone else has any measurements I would be appreciative.

There is a degree of sideways adjustment possible on the stub axles the swing arm turns on. At the moment I have my swing arm out to replace the bearings and also to re-paint before it turns completely brown.
I haven't personally done this sideways adjustment but will be doing it on re-assembly as part of setting up the taper rollers.
