The illness is long lasting. The deal was "sell the Harley buy a Morgan" The outcome was "Buy the Morgan hold and isolate the Harley.- just to clean and look at"

At last, new handbrake cable laid out and fitted and prop shaft tunnel cut to shape. The car in race guise had a square ally cover that was a bit of a patchwork quilt. New alternator also now fitted as I have gone from a late 4.6 serpentine engine to a 3.9 from the late 80's and they had different pulleys and pumps etc. What is now fitted is appropriate for the cars age.

Next job is to fit the o/s front wing etc.

Some further progress, so time for an update.

As the old engine was the later serpentine unit, the car had a later alternator fitted, with a poly V belt pulley. My new engine is earlier in order to be more "period" and uses the V belt pulley as per original. So I've sourced a new original type alternator and luckily managed to reuse the fancy John Eales mount. Belt its 1125mm long by the way in case you need to replace one!

I've also just refitted the off side front wing which was pretty much an all day job as I had to fit new wing brackets and get them bent to final shape. The car previously used a "post" to mount the wings to the crosshead.

Anyway, really happy and everything lines up perfectly now. Drilling the hole for the mounting bolt was scary! The domed nuts where the sidelights would be is just temporary but she's really taking shape now.

Lockdown has its upsides....

Indicator and wiper stalks bent to shape and attached to the steering column. Dashboard lined up and fitted and the first of the gauges too.

There's nothing to show but also spent a few hours connecting up the wiring for the headlights and indicators and routing the loom nicely under the wings.
