I was just watching the headlines and noticed the little ticker going across the bottom of the screen - Missouri sues China over COVID19. Oh this is going to be spectacular to watch. I almost spilt my Quarentinee I was laughing so hard.

They should focus on all the money laundering first on Lake of the Ozarks!

As you can see the numbers continue to fall but we have a long way to go yet.

An announcement is soon to be made over the relaxing of some of the lockdown rules to allow businesses to start to operate. Personally I am very concerned about this because I think as soon as there is any relaxation of the rules it will be like opening the cage and we will have another jump in infections two weeks later.

My daughter in South Africa sent me a message to say that they will be on "Level 4" lockdown from May 1.

I would be very surprised if it becomes possible for non residents to enter Italy for tourism by June. The next stage is expected to allow travel only within ones own region for at least a month. We are still hoping that travel within Italy will be allowed by July.

Useful update - thanks.

I am supposed to be at a wedding in Perugia in August - but having had major heart surgery I would say I'm moderately high risk. Even if travel is allowed, I'd be a bit anxious about making the trip.

Awful situation for Italy. Not only the tragedy of all the deaths, but the battered economy and the consequences flowing from that..

I really dont expect to be staying in any hotels this year. And when hotels reopen, I wouldn't expect an immediate restoration of service.

Thankfully we usually go to quiet places away from other people, and we have regular haunts in North Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire, and Deeside, where we will go when travel is allowed.

The benefit of walking/hiking is that you can spend a day and only see a handful of others, so we do social isolation as our norm most of the time.
