Gambalunga, That's coming on nicely. I can't get a handle on how big it's going to be. How big are those dials, 100mm dia? Cheers John

I think a 24hr version would leave the left hand dial too cluttered. What about a two colour LED though Peter to indicate a.m. or p.m.? Yes I agree a 24 hr version would be a bit crowded. I have been struggling a little with a couple of problems regarding resetting the time and/or position of the hands. If I don't use the adjustment for real time, daylight savings time, etc. I can simply use a routine to return the hands to zero and then advance them to the desired time using two buttons. Essentially I have that now.. In this case it just used the oscillator of the board and would be subject to time drift. I can also incorporate a real time clock but use it only for more accurate timing by only reading the passing of seconds. This would be less complex that automatic setting on power up and automatic daylight saving time adjustment. Since the idea is to make it look like a car dash the idea of a led, even single colour, would not be out of place. I could even have it light up the dials during the night hours. The idea is to make it look like a the instruments in a car and I will eventually use the glass and rims of car instruments. Both can be purchased as spare parts. Depending on what stepping motors are used the instrument needles could be a problem because of the shaft size but I am waiting on some specific instrument stepping motors to arrive which will resolve some issues. PS. The dials will eventually include some logo or other, a name, indication of function (hour, minute) and, perhaps even for fun, a "red line".

I have been thinking about this for a while but it was never terribly high on my list of priorities. Always thought I’d like a way to help tamper proof the car a bit when parked and having a way to better secure the side screens was where to start, and this is what I came up with. I still want to add some cushioning to the backside that goes up against the sidescreens but haven’t decided whether I will use some thin neoprene, leather or perhaps microfiber. I also can use those sliding window locks to keep someone from just sliding the window open and reaching in to open the doors. If out somewhere overnight, between these items and my Taylor Storm Cover at least it will help keep an honest person honest, it certainly won’t stop a determined vandal. A fun project in any case.

Rob - Beautiful craftsmanship but, as a result, can see these being desirable objects in their own right! Will these develop into attractive luggage retaining straps perhaps?

Swapped the rear wheels around yesterday at 10,000 miles from new. Offside rear had previously been swapped for spare wheel at 5000 miles, so both rear tyres now have 5000 miles on them with 10,000 miles on spare, which will be fully cleaned up before installing. Next change will be at 20,000 miles when I repeat the process. Whilst on the ramps took the opportunity to clean complete exhaust system. The Cats show some discoloration but the silencer box backwards cleans up like new.
Next job will be painting the rear overrider mounts which appear to have a rough galvanised paint finish which seems to flake off. Will remove from car to do this and re-mount with stainless fixings.
