I have an oil leak on my diff (Salisbury 7HA axle) and after a bit of investigation I have discovered it's coming from the right hand one of the two what look like Allen screw heads (circled). As you can see the oil is trickling down the diff casing onto the drain plug. Does anyone know if these are Allan screws and can be safely removed for cleaning up and maybe re-fitting with thread seal? I don't think it would take as there is oil seeping out, and if I drain the diff down there will still be oil in the crack. I was thinking maybe a spot weld on the outside - maybe with the diff in situ on the car? Obviously shielding the fuel tank!

Never come across them leaking from the spot welds before. In theory they shouldn't leak because they are a plug weld.
One thing you could check is whether the small breather hole (3mm) in the axle tube is blocked which is causing the axle to pressurise.

I have checked that and it is clear, just to be sure I also put a 2mm drill in and gently turned it by hand.

I hate having to refer people to a specialist rather than offer advice, however I'm stumped on this one. These guys are brilliant and went above and beyond with my axle repairs. Gave lots of advice and help and only charged for a fraction of what they did. JB Engineering

However, if the solution is just to seal them. JB Weld is my recommendation.
