I’m not a fan of Nicola Sturgeon and think the U.K. is better united but she s playing a blinder through this saga and the Welsh First Minister doing pretty well too

Agreed she is doing well. Sadly BJ et al are not.

I don't know if the Scottish model can be applied to larger populations, but it looks very logical, consistent, sensible and responsible. It looks like what it would be like if herd immunity does not work and we had to wait and hope for a vaccine.

I love watching things unravel.
Yesterday Cummings said;
"only last year I wrote explicitly about the danger of coronaviruses"
No, no you didn’t DC. What he really meant to say was “last year I wrote a blog about a virus escaping from a lab and in an effort to look good I edited it on 14th April (the day he got back to work after Durham).

His salary is guesstimated between £95-99k

Following British politics and the moral standards of the leaders in charge is an interesting thing.
At least from outside it is funny. A little bit like going to the zoo.
I must confess I do like British humor even if I do not understand everything.

You are right. But it it damn well should be.

EVERYONE should be paid sufficiently well to live a modest but dignified life, without needing Social/Tax/Food subsidies. Otherwise all you are doing is subsidising low wage industry. And subsidies are not a Conservative thing to do.

Agreed.

And yes, subsidies are definitely not the Conservative thing. They prefer to force people to rely on charity and goodwill from others, such as Foodbank, Shelter, Help the Aged, Crisis etc etc

But that is is this party, not the concept of Conservatism that I support, otherwise it would be like saying that Tony Blair was a Socialist!

Sadly, that version of Conservatism appears to have died out in 1975......

Agreed.

Ms Sturgeon comes across as very personable and professional.

Subsidies are definitely not the Conservative thing ???

Surely the furlough scheme is by far the largest subsidy that has ever been made by any political party in this country.

As I've said before, in times of crisis, capitalism fails and you have to turn to good old socialism to get the country through.
