I’m on the side of the road waiting for the assistance...

While climbing a mountain road, the car started having like power issues... then ok.

We stopped for a pick-nick sandwich.

Then the 3 Wheeler, instead of starting again it sounds like clinks and metallic rattles at the engine. And doesn’t start.

I bet the drive belt is the problem.

Good humor and still happy grin2

If it is the cam belt then be thankful it's a non-interference engine, meaning valves cannot touch pistons.

When the cam belt fails it is an instant stop, which doesn't appear to be the case here.

I would check the fuel pump pressure first as well as looking for any diagnostic fault codes.

Well we’ll see on Monday.

The assistance guy believes it’s also the drive belt.

Now in a taxi on our way back home (80km).

I keep positive: better now during a daily short trip than in September driving around the Picos de Europa... with hotels booked and with the group !

I don't see how a drive belt problem would stop the engine starting.

As Roger says, a broken cambelt is an immediate stop and I agree that the fuel pump is the next likely issue. Fortunately both easy to check - the cambelt by taking the front cover off and the fuel pump should produce 58psi at the Schrader valve.

Anyway good luck and hope it's a quick and easy fix.
