That's true and all it takes is one grumpy copper. But the experience of most drivers seems to be that its unlikely. When it's MOT time I'll simply swap the plates for the yellow reflective ones.

Never been mentioned at any MOT's and my plate isn't a historic one it's a 14'

From a dull memory, I think I read in one of the motoring mags some years back that the registration could also be confiscated..!!!
Good to know that the blind eye syndrome seems to exist for some aspects of Morganeering.. thumbs

It is classed as a 'major' so should be a fail if your MOT tester is doing it properly. If they're not even mentioning it to you (as in - "wrong plates, but if you get stopped, you've just changed them") then makes me wonder what else they're not doing properly.....

I'm not knocking it, I've had plenty of hooky MOT's in my time - just think that the correct information needs to be out there, so that people don't get caught out, or can make a decision about the (very minimal) risks involved. I know from experience that insurance companies will try anything possible to wriggle out of paying a claim.

I think the point about visibility is more important. Mogs are low small cars & I prefer to have reflective plates.

You could always order your new plus four in bright yellow, you could then have black and silver plates as a nice contrast and still be seen :-)

Yes my LED side lights are wired to be always on including the rear lights. I once had a very near miss on an A road with a 50 mph limit when someone reversing out of their driver looked straight at me in by black 4/4 & still reversed out . I have since then always driven with side lights.

David will have noted the sidelights front and rear are permanently on with ignition as with all 3.7 Roadsters. All selecting them on the stalk does is dim the instrument lighting as it reverts from bright daytime to night setting controlled by rheostat. This still only leaves the puny 5 watt filament bulbs in the front headlamps though, so ripe for upgrading as you suggest John.
