I have heard on the grapevine that the Roadster is about to get a new engine and a £1,000 price rise.
Morgan are going to stop production of the Roadster for 6 weeks to retool.
Presumably the new engine will be better and faster? Perhaps a v8 again? We'll have to wait and see. But does the Roadster need a new engine. If it ain't broke why fix it?

Morgan apparrently have a stock of BMW V8s which they cannot use(poor sales of Aero8 SS) I'm told they may shoehorn these into a "special" roadster V8!!!!
cheers!

Hmm, as a new Roadster owner I have mixed feelings about that (if it is true). If it had been announced I would have waited for it. Cheers J

I must admit that as a prospective purchaser I have mixed feelings as well. I like the Roadster as it is and I don't feel it needs a power upgrade. Neither do I like the idea of another £1,000.
If this is only going to be a LE revival of the Plus 8, fine but I will probably stick with the V6 Roadster. For me a Plus 8 should have a Rover V8 and not a BMW substitute.

cheers! Well, whatever the pros and cons of the idea, I'm guessing that the great god of cash flow will dictate that if there ARE Beemer engines unused which either have to be- or have have been paid for this might well happen? G

Robbie, apart from the money element, I would be curious to know how far the sump is away from the unforgiving road surface/speed bumps?

The Aero sump is low apparently. Do you seriously think you'll get a BMW V8 for a grand extra???? The gearbox would be different, and it will put more weight on the front axle. I'm a lifelong V8 fan, but the V8 in the context of today is a tad over-rated. It's thirsty, and heavier than a V6 - two more pots, and it sits further forward. The Aero tub with trad body story was circulating at Newmarket. All they need to do to shift Aero's is to offer the proper convertible and a bit of discount. The SS is no looker from the rear. AND - there's a recession on..........
By the way, if you haven't noticed, I'm a Series 1 Roadster fan. Not so keen on what followed.
