Javier - This sounds like a wonderful adventure ! Unfortunately it’s unlikely I will be able to afford the time in 2021 anyway...

From the UK you have to add a few days for a cross-Spain adventure eg
Day 1 to Portsmouth
Day 2 overnight ferry to Bilbao / Santander and drive S towards Madrid... midway stop for the night somewhere like Segovia?
Day 3 drive to S Spain and ferry to Morroco?
Days 4-15/18 (11-14 days) Morocco
Day 16/19 - 18/21 return

On the other hand (thinking aloud) a Spain trip with a short diversion to Morocco to wave off the adventurers could be more feasible for some ( and er an easier sell for some 2nd halves!)

The route I was planning was to include some good passes, Tizi n Test, Tizi n Tichka, and Dades Gorge, hope you include these in your itinerary.

Tizi n' Test can be included if we do a 15 days, which includes the round South loop Marrakech-Essaouira-Agadir-Taroudant-Marrakech (this last section through Tizi n' Test). If not, getting to this mountain road implies a big deviation of the main route. AND CAREFUL: the R203 road is still not the very best. Very narrow (crossing another car or truck can be a real challenge) and some parts have the Asphalt in really bad conditions. But feasible, as you can't drive fast there! We should analyse carefully the real conditions of this road today.

Tizi n' Tichka is in the crossing route from Aït Ben Hadou to Marrakech, so yes included in the route whatever 12 or 15 days are chosen.

On the way from Merzouga to Aït Ben Hadou we need to stop in the middle unless we make 6 hours drive, which is a lot. So I planned a stop in the Gorges du Todrha. From there, we can:
1 - drive "short" to Aït Ben Hadou (3h)
2 - deviate to Gorges du Dadès and it's famous "snake", adding 40min drive to this day, so 3h40 in in total drive. Feasible. But it means going back and forth to the Gorges du Dadès. I personally don't mind repeatind a road backwards if it's to see / drive an amazing place.
3 - make it "very long" via Agoudal and R704 via Gorges du Dadès to Aït Ben Hadou… meaning 6h30min drive. I WOULD NOT DO THAT as R704 has still very long parts without proper asphalt / tarmac. Good for trail bikes or 4x4 cars, but not a Morgan. We would destroy our 3 Wheelers there.

We live in democracy , and this is the good point of a bespoke travel: we are the "masters of our route". My vote would be for option 2.

Hello Paul! We already have planned routes in Spain and Portugal. Much shorter for those mooring at Bilbao or Santander ports.

Does these sound good to you? (all these starting / ending in Bilbao, so no "crossing Spain" days)
Route Rioja - 6 days - Vineyards, cellars, food, nice ancient villages and monuments.
Route Navarra and Basque Country - 6 days - Superb roads, beautiful villages, amazing hills and landscapes, super posh hotels, food, wines, etc.
Route Galicia - 9 days - Lighthouses, amazing coast roads, best food and seafood ever, extension belt for the comeback or you won't fit in the 3 Wheeler, incredible villages and cities.
Route Portugal - 13 days - The best and very best of Portugal. All North from Lisbon (included) "not to miss" included. Food and wines that will make you cry of hapiness. Superb roads, villages. Top of the top.

A few years ago we did the same trip with our Jaguar C-type in the month of October and the weather was doable. The roads in themselves are pretty good were it not that there had been a flood shortly before our passage so that quite a few roads were simply washed away in the Atlas. The main problem was the stone-throwing children on the side of the road. That has cost some broken windows and dents with several cars. Another problem is the safety of the cars at night. They really need to be guarded.
We have driven many tours but Morocco was really the most beautiful. I think it is possible with an M3W but then the roads have to be scouted properly.

I've never seen any kids throwing stones at us in any of the trips we've done Not a good experience, and even less with a classic car such a C-Type. I can imagine your anger

About having the cars guarded at night, I absolutely agree. I would never organize a tour in Morocco without being sure that every night the 3 Wheelers will be safe. That is also a good reason to have an escort van driven by a local (or better two) so we can stop to have lunch or a coffe with peace of mind knowing that someone is looking at the cars, so no one is dismantling them for a souvenir... I'll try to convince the group about that

Of all the roads we're considering, only the R203 (the Tizi n' Test pass) is the one I haven't driven in the past years. Precisely because being on a large V-Class Mercedes van, it's not the kind of road you'll choose. But Ana María's partner will check it to be sure it's OK for us to drive it. The rest of the roads, we've being on them many times these last years and they're all Ok. Even improved from year to year. I guess when we'll be there the Tizi n' Tichka pass road works will be finished and we'll have beautiful fresh tarmac

I think a backup/security vehicle with locals is a sensible idea. Even if it's just carry cold
