Here is one to watch.. the wiring loom on my GDI was perilously close to the Cat and after a run was red hot.. it was less than 10mm away and only held by a rather feeble plastic P clip.

I moved it away, fitted a better clip, put some heat wrap around it and also made up a small heat shield..

Just checked mine and yes it is the same so wrapped some reflect-cool around the loom.

if you can you need to move the clip to another location. I put a longer allen screw in to replace one of the wing bolts and put the clip on that with a nut to hold. Also there are a couple of holes in the inner wing panel that I used to bolt a small length of angle ally and riveted plate to make a heatshield. It gets very hot around that area!

Interesting. Checked mine to find the loom is roughly where you have moved yours to. It looks as if it has always been there.
Well worth checking though!

Have a look at motorsport suppliers like Merlin and Demon Tweeks. They sell a variety of heat shielding products that include some specially for wiring. Agriemach is another supplier.
