Afternoon all,

I won't post what this is (for obvious reasons) but I noticed a rather bad security flaw on my car that allows me to start it without the keys..
Is this a known issue?

If not I wonder if it may be something on earlier cars, I will do some digging and see what I find..

So you are saying no key in the ignition and it starts? You must be providing power to the fuel pump somehow, then.

I think it may be a problem with your car NickCW. I am not aware of any "normal" ways of starting the engine without the keys, plenty of ways it won't start even with the keys! The Turn Signal Module, as Rog G suggests, does a lot of strange things when it goes wrong.

My old wrangler started with a flat head screwdriver, but I couldn't take my steering wheel off for security.

Bizarrely last year I noticed if I turned my hazard warning lights on the fuel pump would energise and I could start the car without the keys in the ignition.

This has now rectified itself and no longer works.

Weird.

Weird indeed. Do you carry a spare Turn Signal Module with you just in case?

Well I wasn't going to say.. but yes this is the issue.
It basically turns on the ignition and starts the car without the keys..
