Just had a call with my dealer saying they are having difficulty sourcing s new drivers side electric window motor to replace mine which sounds like it is shredding the cable when going up or down.

Does anyone know what these are from or where I can source one?

It's a pain as it involves a partial strip down, but you should find some numbers & (if lucky) a manufacturers logo on the motor casing that you can then search from

Hi Kevin,
I somehow think these were from a Ford Fiesta?

I was told it was a BMW motor with the Morgan shaft bound onto it. They had to order it through Morgan and my eyes watered for a bit.

Kevin. I changed one on my first S1 it was very expensive and I think it had Bmw on it from memory I was new to morgans at the time so I got it from the factory ..If yours is off the car i would try car factors and see if they can match it up.

I agree, the motor is from a Ford Fiesta MK4.

The problem is that the cable at the front of the door is bent through a very tight bend, this means the cable runs on the outer casing and can then fray, causing it to jam.

I had my O/S unit replaced a couple of years back and, because of time constraints,I had to buy a complete new set up from the factory - ouch!!

Sadly, they won't sell just the cable..... swear

If you are lucky, you can just replace the simple Bowden cable (but it has an odd 'hockey stick' / 'L' shape end to it) and the length is critical.

I think it's Fiesta too. Somewhere on this forum there is a list of S1 parts and their origin.

Thanks as usual for all the info guys. The dealer took a photo of the offending article but apparently they cannot find it at all online. I'm assuming they have checked the factory route and as is becoming quite common it is no longer available but I will double check.

I'll also let them know it is probably ford fiesta mk4 as mine definitely doesn't have any bmw markings I was told as that was my first thought.
