On my new-to-me 2017 Plus 4 the speedo is way over to the left, away from an easy glance to check one's speed.
So like others I've read about on TM, I thought I would fit a small discreet digital readout on the top of the steering column.
I acquired one with a nice easy-to-read display that simply plugs into the OBD port - and it worked perfectly in my tin-top (2014 Golf GTD). However, plugged into the Morgan, all the functions work except for the speed!
So am I right in assuming that the OBD on the GDI engine setup is not Euro OBD2? The instructions with the display showed a few different wiring protocols that involved changing/removing some of the pins - which I tried, but none of those options worked any better.
I have acquired another, solderable OBD plug - so I could rewire the lead to suit the Mog, if I only knew how (or even whether it's possible!) - ie which pinouts provide the speed sensing and so on.
Any OBD wiring/pinout experts out there, please?
Many thanks if you can help!

Some useful stuff here from Wicki. As you can see there is plenty of manufacturers discretion on the pinout standards. Buying a Ford friendly OBDII Bluetooth adaptor seems to help therefore and setting up the display app to match of course.

I bough a GPS speedo on flea bay. It connects to the USB port on the radio so comes on with the ignition. About £16.

Trying to keep it to a hard wired option rather than Bluetooth.

I have a unit to plug in to the port with an app on the phone but that doesn’t show the speed either.

If you use your phone there is also an app called GPS speedo.
I found on both Roadsters that one OBD rader I bought didn't work on fords. I have a cheap blue tooth dongle that works well with the Torque app

(or even whether it's possible!) Hi Keith Not familiar with the GDI but would hazard a guess that the non-Ford MBE ECU doesn’t control the speedo over any of the OBD2 CAN protocols and perhaps the speedo grabs its pulses directly from the sensor on the front wheel hub? Awaiting to be shot down.....

Seems to connect in some way, but no readings. What is your solution?
