I've seen posts regarding fitting the 4 seater 4 leaf rear springs. My car is a 1974 2 seater. The rear suspension is, to say the least, somewhat firm. I'm wondering if the 4 leaf springs would be of benefit. Or are there different ones for the 2 seater?
I'm just about to lubricate the springs with chain oil to see if that makes a difference.

Chain oil really does make a difference - try that first before going to the expense and trouble of a replacement set.

I had the 7 leaf on my 4 seater. Changed to the 4 leaf and has transformed the ride quality.
Fitment was not without issues, but very pleased with the result.

Oil them first with motorcycle chain grease. It makes an amazing difference if they are dry.
Take off the spare wheel so you can get to the rear shackles.

My Land Rover has aftermarket parabolic leaf springs fitted. These offer so much greater articulation that matching longer travel dampers have to be fitted. The main advantage though is that with just two leaves used there are fewer sliding surfaces between them, allowing better compliance. This also offers better tolerance to infrequent lubrication FWIW.
TBM's findings of an improvement with fewer leaves makes me wonder if there are advantages of using fewer still but stiffer leaves with a Mog.

So are the 4 leafters valid for a 2 seater as well as the 4 given the lesser load requirement of the 2 seater?

The four seater springs work well on the two seater. Recommended by Peter Mulberry to me a few years ago.
