A nice dream but alas not in my future. The closest i will get is shipping a Centa to England. Now to find a spare Centa to ship there so the downtime will not be long when I do the changeover.

I have done the job by drilling four 20mm holes at the corners and then cutting the straight sides with a jigsaw but that was with the bell housing removed and sawing from the inside. from the outside a small wheel on an angle grinder will do the trick. There is plenty of clearance for the blade on the inside but you could check to be sure by measuring through one of the corner holes. If you only want to get in for greasing then why not use a large hole saw? you should be able to see enough through a hole about 60mm in dia.

I was surprised how easy the bell housing is to cut, mine was off the engine. This was all done from the outside, used a 20mm hole saw in the 4 corners and then a jig saw with a long blade run along the edge of the reinforcing webs and then across the 2 ends.

I have an exchange unit here so, you tell me when your engine is coming out - I post the parcel to you, 2 day service - you remove the centa from the parcel, put your old one in it and return to me straight away. I will be short of my unit for a week and you don't have to delay at all. No problems!

Have done as you suggested Phil and cut a hole with a 60mm hole saw and have ordered some silicon grease.
Access doesn't look too bad to get some grease in there with a heavy duty syringe or a grease gun with a smallish tube.
I put my endoscope camera in there and the rollers look to be in good condition at 3k miles, still planning to get your mods done a sometime though!

Good job Obie. Did you put a centering plug on the pilot drill of the holesaw so the bigger hole cutter would not wobble around?
