today i called in at the Morgan factory' as i was driving to a meeting just a few miles away. i was made very welcome by all the people i came into contact with, but in particular, 1st i bumped into, THE, Mr Phil Ledgerwood of ledgerwood morgan. he had so much enthusiasm, you would have thought he was there to pickup his first car, with the pocket money he had saved for 30 years. then i came across Mark Ledington (Morgan's, Global Dealer Account Manager)not only did he spend time showing me how the roof fitted on the 4/4 sport, he even took me on a whistle stop tour around the factory to find a grey 4/4 sport. IM SO SOLD ON A MORGAN NOW.

Visiting the factory has a tendency to have that effect on people. smile

How many car makers can you arrive at unannounced and take a tour of the factory? thumbs

What is really nice is going there when your car is being built and chatting with the people actually building it. I've gotten to know quite a few of the chaps by name and it makes visiting the production areas really special, especially when you can put a face and a name to the person who sewed your interior, or painted the body, or cut your bonnet, etc, etc.

It took me five years to convert MrsW from a NO to a YES, and my final ploy was to take her there on our 30th wedding anniversary. We'd also called at Prescott the same day.
The factory tour cemented her agreement......... grin2

Call in at Ledgerwood's if you're out near the Humber Bridge, it's worth a look.

I made a factory tour a year ago when my 4/4 sport was being built. I was very impressed by the enthusiasm of the Morgan people.
It was one of the most beautiful days of my life. I will never forget the experience! thumbs

I did a factory tour back in March after many years of meaning to go...no excuse really as its just down the road. A week later I was back at the factory to look at a 4/4 Sport and test drive it and ended up buying it! Since then I've done a few more trips around the factory for one reason or another and am looking forward to going round again this Saturday!

Unfortunately I couldn't spare the time for a trip back to blighty whilst my sport was being assembled - so the factory visit remains a treat in store for me. Rémy at Morgan France said he is wary of his french customers visiting the factory before they take delivery as they can come back traumatised by witnessing their pride and joy to be being "adjusted" by a chap with a big hammer. In my case, however, he was relaxed about it, on the basis that as a TVR owner not much that I might see at Malvern could shock me.
