Please take a look at the 1988/1989 wiring diagram found on the GoMog site.

According to this there is fuse between the white (W) cable coming from the Igniton switch to the coil, voltage stabilzer and gauges.
The BS-AU7 wiring standard says "white" is for the the ignition control circuit (unfused)
Would you agree that the diagram is wrong in this area?

What you say? I think the lines for the ignition and voltage gauge, etc. are drawn from the wrong side of the fuse?!
Or would it make sense to have a fuse there?

Regards
Tim

As you say white is correct for an unfused ignition switch controlled circuit. So strictly speeaking the wires after fuses should be green and possibly light green after any further switch or stabiliser as in above case. This colour coding is mitigated by the fact ignition coil circuits were not fused on earlier vehicles so the wire to coil would have been white.

I would put the anomaly down to a transitional situation as fuses were added to virtually every circuit, and nothing to stress about. Don't be tempted to remove or bypass fuses either but do check physical/electrical continuity of same.

the challenge I am facing in the my restoration of my 1984 car is that the new "replica" loom from Autosparks is everything but an exact replica for a Ford CVH 4/4. So I am in the process of trying to figure out how to use the new loom (which I am quite is based on a 1988/1989 loom) to fit my 1984 car.

I agree with you - after a fuse, the cable should be green. As it is not (and the volt stabiliser needs a white input) - I think I will keep the white cables on the unfused circuit. I am technically not removing a fuse - I will just not add one as the 1984 have white cables going to the volt gauge and tacho.

To create my own wiring diagram I came across a great freeware called TinyCad
When I am done with my diagram I will post a copy of it on my blog.

If somebody wants to do the same - here is a first version of the symbols used in the Morgan wiring diagrams. Just add this file as symbol library to TinyCad and give it a go.

All I can add Tim is that when I fitted an Autosparks loom to my LR, I kept everything original. Laying it out to identify wires was a headache so just labelled with masking tape as I went along. Only real confusion was the choke control circuits as this involved cable switches, thermostats and even carb heaters, all of which were redundant as mine had been converted to diesel.

Regarding fuses I wouldn't remove existing ones just to match correct colour coding. I'm guessing the original fusing didn't allow the car to self ignite as neither did it on my 55 year old LR despite effectively only one fuse. If as I think you suggested, the loom facilitates extra fuses I might be tempted to use a larger fusebox to match though.
