Just to ask, I have a Morgan plus 4 2020 and have noticed a leak of yellow fluid on the steering gaiters. Does anybody have ideas have checked around radiator nothing showing.

Yellow is very odd. What colour is the coolant?
Being so far forward then coolant seems the most obvious.

A yellowy green could be coolant, but could also be clean oil?

Can you post pictures?

Others wil throw their arms up in horror, up to you if you want to try this (it’s how most mechanics check). Touch your finger in the liquid and touch to tip of your tongue for a second. Anti freeze is sweet.

Oil (sounds daft) can’t be mistaken is it’s clearly oily.

Not much danger of it being battery overflow these days or I wouldn’t have mentioned it, plus your a long way away from your battery vent and your year of car doesn’t have one.

Colin (I repeat, your call if you try this or not ;-))

And just hope it isn't brake fluid. But Colin in reality that is what i would do, with a pint of water to rinse the mouth.
Of course it could be a small dog sneaking into the garage AKA don't eat yellow snow.

It could be a number of things:-

Coolant- although the factory tend to use red antifreeze

The lubricant (semi fluid grease) used in the steering rack- It can leach past the rack gaiters

The under seal the factory apply liberally over everything, its a yellow/gold colour....if it has been sprayed on the radiator it will melt when its hot and drip....

My first thought was liquid grease from the steering rack. If its thick and oily to the fingers that will be it. It will be coming from a split or leaking gaiter (had both these faults on mine, both fixed under warranty) and settles on the centre under part of rack.

If one of the gaiters are split suggest getting hold of these and asking your dealer to replace with same under warranty. If he agrees ask for the MMC replacements he won't have used. Inferior but handy as a spares.
