I recall when the glass cockpit was being introduced in commercial aircraft, a pilot told me that he was concerned about how he would tap instructions on a touch screen when the aircraft encountered severe turbulence or if there was a fault causing severe vibration.
Glass cockpits still have a skip load of switches just no overly mechanical display instruments that cost a packet to service when they go wrong, some people really do have their heads firmly stuck in the sand. I've only worked in the Aviation industry for 40 years. Yes I did start off on analogue.

My good lady suffered two broken legs after her Evoque ran over her, thus there is no doubt a variety of programming issues relating to the interface betwixt human and machinery which can create unfortunate outcomes. It would seem to be most unfortunate to loose one`s life as a result of "normal" customer development processes..?

Here's a new episode of Harry's Garage. Ferrari Roma. From 20:20 on he does a summary about likes and dislikes. I have never seen Harry so enraged and out of his mind due to the operation of the controls. Every time he says Ferrari (it is a review after all) the voice control comes on...which you can't turn off. If Harry is driving like in minute 19 while trying to turn the radio down like in minute 21 it would be his last drive.
