No as long as you don't leave it permanently on charge it is adequate.

All recent versions of the Ctek charger I'm aware of are multi-stage meaning they will have as a minimum a final float charge mode at around 1.2 volts less than the main absorb charge voltage. As such not only can they but its important they are left on continuously when vehice not in use for extended periods. Cycling the unit off then on again every two to three weeks will be beneficial in reducing stratification of electrolyte and warding off sulphation of the plates. I believe current models monitor battery voltage during long term float and automatically trigger this action though.

Thanks for the clarification Richard(V6). That matches my understanding excatly and thats why I leave a CTek it connected to my Plus 4 SS permanently. No harm so far...

As far as Plus Four battery life is concerned and Richard +8s postI didn't even start my Plus Four for some six weeks until recently and I hadn't bothered to put it on my other CTek. I was fully expecting the battery to be flat (not good practice I know to let a battery go completely flat but he ho....) and have to connect a charger. Pleassantly surprised to press the start button and be rewarded with instant starting. So 6 weeks with no charger and no problem!

Not wishing to tempt fate both cars on now on CTeks - contendly slumbering through the rest of lockdown.

My Plus 8 will go at least 10 weeks (long holiday) that I have tested out without a run no problem, none of my Morgan's have ever had a charger near them, it's horses for courses dear boy (Almond).
There have been two Morgan's written off due to fires traced down to a defective charger that I'm aware of over my short 17 year Morgan experience..
There may well be others I'm not an MSCC member but doubtless someone on there knows of others.

Having seen a few exploded batteries in a previous life I have learnt a lot about faulty charging systems grin2 From Knife cells through Plante up to the latest kit and they are all an accident waiting to happen.

Back on thread this is a very interesting statement from KH about the Plus Four pricing but mostly seats laugh2
So just the brakes to sort now..

I see they have slipped in a price increase I hope this includes the comfortable seats that KH alluded to and that they have sorted the brakes out included at that price. So that's a no on the seats being included.

From the price list :-
Comfort Plus Seat
(Features three-way pneumatic adjustment) £990.00

Blimey at £990 I'd take it with std seats and get a good trimmer like Shaun at Allon Whites to sort 'em

That was my thinking, quite an admission though that the standard are well ---- or substandard being polite..they are doing themselves no favours imho

I hadn't thought that through Jon, I have no experience of upholsterers but that sounds ideal and must be a more cost effective and right resolution.

We all know that anyone who buys a new model Morgan in the first couple of years will be a development factory driver. Longer in the case of the M3W.

So these first two years of CX production will enhance the models, and obviously changes will never stop anyway. But charging £1000 for comfort seats really is taking the piss.
