Oh, I forgot, has your Plus 8 ABS, Peter? And what is about the Plus Four? I read in some reviews she has ABS but was not here a discussion, she has not?

Comfort Plus Seat
(Features three-way pneumatic adjustment) £990.00

Blimey at £990 I'd take it with std seats and get a good trimmer like Shaun at Allon Whites to sort 'em

That was my thinking, quite an admission though that the standard are well ---- or substandard being polite..they are doing themselves no favours imho

I have had a Plus Four on order for a few months but was told that the « comfort seats » were fitted as standard from October production. That means I will not pay any more when the car is delivered. However I could opt for the comfort plus seat as mentioned in a previous post.

Good news you have a Plus Four on order, which seats did you test drive if you had one and were they the one's you will be getting in your car is probably the question I'd like to ask you. This is because a lot of very experienced Morgan owners on TM have tried the cars and thought the seats were pretty dire for comfort.
Any information you can provide will be gratefully received by us prospective PF customers as I have no desire to spend a grand on seats in a car of that value.

I haven't had a test drive as yet as my preferred Morgan agent is in Gloucestershire and it has not been possible/permtted so far.

I'm always amused when MMC use the term "comfort". The highlight has to be the comfort steering kit offered at cost to early adopters of the M3W 5 speeder. This to (partially) correct near lethal bump steer. Doubtless to avoid admission of gross negligence in not providing best practice steering geometry scared

I was so unhappy with my new Plus Four seats that I brought the car to an upholstery company. They have taken the seat apart and they were very surprised to find out that the seat itself and the back is a metal frame with a piece of multiplex and 1cm of foam. I have send feedback to the factory that they suggested to take the multiplex out and replace it with a sprung seat system. Their feedback was that Morgan is now looking into changing seat frame supplier so they could replace the multiplex type seat with a sprung based seat. Building new seatframes for mine will cost around 1000£ each.

Before buying my 4/4 I always thought Morgans were uncomfortable boneshakers. I was surprised therefore how comfortable the standard Trad Morgan seats are.

I have sat in a Plus Six and thought the seat base seemed a little 'flat' in comparison to mine so why have Morgan changed the seats in the CX cars? Is it because the chassis design requires thinner less padded seats?

Richard ,I had a test drive in one of the factory demonstrators in November last year, the car was some 4/ 5 months old when I drove it so it would have been the original seat that has been so heavily criticised. I drove the car for around an hour and have to say I did not feel at all fatigued. However I was so amazed at the quality of the chassis and the ride it gave me that perhaps it blinded me to any aches and pains! I had planned to drive both auto and manual but was so taken with auto box up first that I didn’t bother with the manual, something which I thought would never happen. It has to be said I am 5ft 11 inches tall and weigh around 70 KG , I’m guessing that ,what can I say people of more generous proportions might have fared differently. I did notice that with the drivers seat set in a comfortable driving position there seemed less room to behind to put luggage than my old Plus 4, but didn’t measure it.
Hope that helps

I have the same feeling as you.But the big question is :what was your feeling about the brake pedal?

That is really good to read, thank you for that so it sounds as if the new standard seat will be adequate but if you need pampering the £1,000 route would be the way to go.
Enjoy your car when it arrives and let us know how much fun you are having.
