With sadness I write of the passing of Jörg Koessler, the much respected operator of our Morgan dealership, Morgan Austria. In August last year Jörg wrote to us advising that he had been diagnosed with a rare genetic autoimmune disease and that he was managing to keep it under control. He also foreshadowed the possibility of his condition worsening and sadly this came to pass at the age of only 53. Our deepest condolences to Marlies, Rudi, all of the staff and wider family and friends.
Jörg was known to all Austrian owners and many in the wider Morgan community. A few years back Steve Morris paid a visit to the annual end-of-season party at the dealership in Trumau along with several others on this forum. I also recall Charles Morgan recommending Jörg to me. Speaking for my close group of Morgan owning friends here; Hannes (the Austrian), Martin, Malcolm and Nico, we would like to pay tribute to Jörg. All of us agree he was a man of integrity who ran his business with a sympathetic and human touch. He would always go the extra mile to help, especially those of us running older Morgans experiencing difficulty sourcing parts. There was always a smile and time to recommend a way to solve our problems. He had charm, humility and was a talented Morgan engineer. He will be much missed.
