No I already own it.....rats, fair point. I get the Panamera Estate but they have fitted the obligatory scuff plate in the space for the traditional diffuser plus some black matt side strips and the different spoiler which has no bearing on the "cross" bit of the title. Next will be a pink unicorn model with legislatively adjusted 3cm unicorn prong on the front covered in Sodoffski Crystals. 
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I rather like it - but then I've always liked the sporty estate type of look - going back as far as the Volvo P1800ES and the Reliant Scimitar.
In the unlikely event I'd ever have £140k to spend on a new car, it wouldn't be my first choice though.

They fill a niche market populated by people with badge desire and are bling magnets.
The idea of off road might add to the appeal to these “look at me’s” but seriously, no ground clearance? I bet they would would struggle with the urban potholes/speed bumps that require off road capabilities.
An EV off roader? Bloody hell, imagine the range anxiety when out in that in the wilds of Dartmoor, Brecon Beacons, local fete/school sports and parked in a field.
I do get puzzled at the way off road versions of standard models get built. I can understand a 4x4 to get traction but true off road? I even think hybrids are a marketing option to entice sales as they seem a weight added version with less than efficient EV capability and price (profit) hike. I had one in Jan as a courtesy car. Nice car but the transition between EV and petrol was not clear. Also the unnecessary tech/bling. I only did a low mileage though so no real trip along the learning curve. I’d go EV but initial buying cost is too high for the size we want. A Kia Niro is in my sights but not at the cost.

TlLB has owned one since November, bought new. Fantastic little car for her. Great value. Economical. 4 doors. Decent luggage space. An additional 45 mm ground clearance, over the standard model. Compliant suspension. Absolutely ideal for Devon lanes and surprisingly refined at motorway speeds. Bud 4/4 - Stanley

I love the Panda 4x4 although it gets more and more barbie like...
It a car designed for simple purpose and amazingly good in snowy conditions.
Tester in the Austrian Autorevue once said as a result of an M-Class test: "If the landlord gets stuck with his M-Class, forest ranger will pick him up with his Panda and they go fetch a tractor. So nothing changes with the new model of the M-Class."

Heres another way of looking at it.
If 90% of privately purchased cars in the UK are bought on PCP's and by 2030 you can not buy an IC engined vehicle, from 2025 ish onwards PCP residual values on IC engined vehicles are going to be horrendous and therefore in about 4 years time there will be pressure to take an electric vehicle, rather than IC engine.
4 years isn't that far off and there aren't currently many EV vehicles to choose from. If I was a manufacturer, I would be knocking out any EV variant I could dream up from my parts bin on the basis that demand will be high and supply will be limited. How many other large EV "estates" are currently available - none as far as I can see.

Could you not also argue that when IC cars are nearing the end of production that second hand values may rise?

I can feel the hate already...
I have a Taycan, leased via my own limited company as it just made financial sense. The monthly price is high (and if it was a personal purchase I wouldn't have bought it), but that is being taken from gross business income that would otherwise be subject to 19% corporation tax and a further 37.5% dividend tax rate. For a private purchase I would have had half the amount of money to spend. The BIK for this year is 0%, then 1% next year (almost there actually), and 2% the year after. I've worked out that on my EV friendly electric tariff it will cost me £400 to fuel (electrify) it for 12,000 miles in the first year, servicing will be minimal and no road tax. Compared to my thirsty Audi estate which would otherwise consume £400 per month of petrol, the Taycan is actually not so expensive.
I think MJF is right, the residuals on ICE vehicles, especially normal everyday cars are going to be horrendous in just a few short years. I think halo ICE sportscars may be different though.
