They are the retrofit fix for cracked tubing in that area, I can’t imagine why they aren’t standard on a 2020 vehicle. Because the chassis has been through a number of upgrades over time and it (shouldn't) be necessary for a 2020 model. Planenut will maybe correct me but I don't believe there are any post 2014 chassis which have lower wishbone bracket cracks.

Mine (late 2016) cracked in the front bushing tube, which led to the rear tube shearing and a chassis replacement. Diagnosed by SIFAB as HAZ weakness.

I agree with you Chris, no need for the modification to the lower front suspension point on post 2014 specification chassis. As far as I am aware there have been no chassis cracks in the two known positions on any post 2014 chassis cars. Some early manufactured Brooklands M3W's were made with pre 2014 chassis, as you say they were made from September 2013 so they would be. I would be interested to hear more about just what the problem was with M3W55's car as I have not heard of cracking in the post 2014 chassis before.

“ Some early manufactured Brooklands M3W's were made with pre 2014 chassis, as you say they were made from September 2013 so they would be.” I think I got one of those at 11/50 even though my car was first registered in 2015! The bolt in brace has been there from the start and now I’ve had the lower wishbone brackets replaced I’m feeling more relaxed. One plus is I don’t have the “boat anchor” that they call the NVH kit.

That is why I said manufactured, not registered. There are quite a few M3W's that have sat about for quite a time before being sold. I know that by the time the Brooklands M3W's got into the 30's of 50 they were on post 2014 chassis for sure.

![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/Gm8kq9u.jpg) A neat chunk fell out of the forward bushing tube, and the rear arm could not take the weight and sheared.
