The Avons are rated as rear/sidecar tires. They weren't meant to be used for steering.


What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

I was of the same opinion as you until I saw a picture of them in use. They offer a similar contact patch to a lent over motorbike, just not how the tyre designer had in mind😳

Hiedenau K28`s are used on Ural combinations on all 3 wheels tread life is about 10k. Check out the video`s on youtube.

Finally had my Blockley's fitted. When I drove out for the first time it felt as if I had power steering fitted to the car! There is a much smaller contact area with the road than the Avons. Not done that many miles yet but seems to grip the road much better too. It remains to be seen how well they last but so far this has made the car so much easier to steer.

I got 16000 miles out of my Blockleys, just be careful in the wet. They can under steer for Britain 😀
