(apologies, I've just seen this)
I've the SSL setup on my Aero S5: the before may sound familiar - the front end is too stiff, with too little roll. The rear is too soft. They don't feel like they're part of the same setup - and while it might work with 125bhp, with 3 times that it produces a nervous ride and tricky handling.
SSL offered me a sportier rear anti roll bar - they're made to order, so just ask. The two ends of the car now work together so it's more fun to drive; my regular passenger noticed the ride is much more comfortable. I've no regrets about changing, and now make far more use of the car.

Will, have you installed the rear sway bar with the Standard suspension or together with the SSL-coilovers? If with standard, was the sway bar connection enough to stiffen the rear? The Plus Six is so soft in the rear that both sides in parallel travel a lot over ondulations and in faster corners, while the suspension moves through its travel, the whole rear also moves sideways, maybe because of the geometry. I've ordered the Librands kit now and will report once it is installed.

Markus
with the SSL coilovers and droplinks - there didn't seem much point in being half pregnant.

Hi Grump, a little late but welcome to the club. As you know, we all like to see pictures of the wide choice of specifications that are possible. Quick update regarding the suspension: The suspension kit has arrived only a few days after placing the order, unfortunately my local Morgan garage has a order backlock until January. Once installed and tested, I will report here.
Regards, Markus

Hello All,
it took a while but since two month or so I'm enjoying my Plus Six with appropriate suspension. Before, the rear was not to my liking, just too soft with springs and damping for faster road driving. And the front was unnecessary stiff. I like my cars to be planted on the rear and flexible in the front. That suits my driving style of braking before corners, the classical slow in, fast out style. Old fashioned, I know...
Now, with the SSL-kit, the PlusSix is what I was expecting. A fast and understandable road car which gives me confidence in those faster bends we all enjoy to take a little faster than we should.
Rear damping is a little stiffer than before but well worth it, a welcome tradeoff for the fun I'm having with it.
I have not adjusted the damping yet from the middle setting that the garage has set it to, which still gives me options to play with in the future.
So far I can really recommend the kit for those looking for more control instead of comfort.
Regards,
Markus

Markus,
I drove the SSL prototype Plus 6: tour experience is exactly what was intended. It makes a really nice car!

Why then do Morgan not simply adopt this much better suspension and incorporate it into a standard car? For a car costing around £95k I find it quite astonishing that customers have to then spend thousands getting the car to handle properly and safely when at speed. When you recall the number of Plus Sixes which have been crashed since the model was launched, many of them demonstrators, it points to the car being unsafe in inexperienced hands. I still cannot comprehend the head in the sand attitude of MMC.

Well, it's either the people responsible for suspension development who don't design the optimum set up, or it's a simple budget limitation. Or both............... But then we all have slightly different preferences when it comes to suspension.

I am sure we all have one common preference and that would be to not wrap our cars around a tree. If those responsible for the suspension design are not capable of admitting that, just perhaps, they have not designed the optimum setup, particularly now when they can see and test for themselves the SSL design, then they are in the wrong job, IMHO.
