How much time does your fan goes on after your engine is shut down? Usually it may run few seconds to one minute, sometimes up to 3 – 4 minutes. What is your experience?

My previous 4/4 CVH engined, fan used to run-on for variable times, depends how hard you've been driving, ambient air temp, etc

The main thing is it's working, so don't worry Mike, drive & enjoy thumbs

It all depends how long I am stuck in traffic and ambient temperature. I also have a toggle swirtch hidden in glove compartment plus a small red led light just below the lower edge of the instrument panel. When fan comes on I can see the reflected light on my knee. Driven at higher speeds the fan does not come on because the ram air is sufficient. If the fan comes on for a long time I sometimes open the heater valve and temperature goes down quicker. Having said that I also had installed a collector tank that added approx 1.5 litres of coolant in the system. This avoids loss of coolant through the overflow pipe. Remember I operate in a hot climate in Malta. Adding an oil cooler also helped manage temperatures.

mine changed after I renewed the sensor.

Orginally it would start the fan even in November. I was happy it did happen as it showed it still worked.

When it stopped working due to a failing sensor, I replaced with a new one that seldom kicks-in until at a much higher temperature.

I now have an over-ride switch - simliar to RenoP530 - instead I use the spot-light switch. (spot-lights now driving lights come on with the headlights are on full beam).

When changing the sensor, one has to make sure to get the right temperature range for the type of engine installed.
