Just out of curiosity, has anyone in a automatic tried the Overseer Switch?
And if so, how does it work?

Sorry no not yet. LadyHB is my overseer and tells me what I can and cannot do…😇 🤣

I think you have to press it for some several seconds to deactivate the OS function. Its active by default. Probably not a good idea to turn it off for normal driving as it seems to stop any back torque from the engine, during heavy downshifting, from locking the rear wheels. To do that I think it temporarily disengages the drive. A bit like a slipper clutch on motorcyles. Hence if OS was set to 'out' you wouldn't have that protection.

If the OS light comes on during driving it just means that its been brought into play during the above. I haven't seen the light on my own car but it did come on the demo car I drove at KH before purchasing. I think I was just a bit clumsy with the manual downshifting during fairly heavy braking.

The garage Albert explain me if you want to use the hand brake while driving you should disenguage the OS function.

If you get an overseer fault warning on the dash you can use the switch to reset it but if there is a transmission problem you could cause damage! Can switch it off for competition driving / handbrake turns etc. But again risk damage!
Had a problem with our overseer warning coming on without cause our dealership tried to fix no joy so car picked up by MMC via trailer and eventually rectified it by resetting electronics and interesting did nearly 250 miles testing it! ( plus the 84 miles it had on delivery)The car had only done under 1k miles
I myself wondered if they wanted to see what our SSL suspension upgrade was like ( done after initial warning light problem) but said it was to see if overseer warning light was resolved, all done under warranty and returned by trailer, but what would 250 miles freebee in a P6 be worth?
Could be part of a MMC car development strategy? but I was pleased they sorted it out and done in a friendly cooperative way!

I have a number of friends with a similar approach and generosity to you and to be honest the best way to enjoy a plus 6 is to drive someone else’s.They did fill the tank though.We have had quite a few problems with the car but it does put a smile on your face every time you get it out and because we had our previous 2005 V6 Roadster for fifteen years I forget that for the first year or two we were sorting out leaky radiators, suspension , brakes etc and once done we had thirteen years of smiling faces.

What exactly does the switch. For me, today on the dash the sign appeared and the engine stopped. I rolled to the side of the road and turned off the ignition. The message Overseer Switsch was still on the display for a few minutes and I could not even turn on the warning light. After a few minutes the message disappeared and the pressed warning light also started flashing. After that the engine started again and I could drive on. Now I can't find any clue in Hanbuch what that meant. Can someone give a hint

It's explained in the handbook Clemens. You can download a copy here but note it's explained more fully in the Plus Six manual. Page 17 shows the two associated indications "OS off" and "OS fault". Page 28 explains the overseer. The switch turns it off to allow handbrake use during driving off road etc. It needs to be pressed for 3 seconds. Note it re-engages by default on next start up.
