Totally agree chaps, both drivers were very "punchy" from the start and Max has history cutting Lewis off at corners, brought back memories of some of Michael Schumachers past exploits. Great drive back to the front by Lewis, which also must raise further questions over Bottas's future with Mercedes.

Richard, my neighbour (I'm in Austria) dropped in immediately after the race and he thought Max was wronged and Lewis the wrong doer. I saw it, as did the Austrian TV commentators, as a "racing incident." We'll all have our own view. What I loved was that Lewis waited and made his passing move on Le Clerc at exactly the same spot on the same corner to win the race knowing that Red Bull were complaining that "everybody knows you shouldn't pass there." Lewis made exactly the same type of move that Max would have, and has done so many times in similar circumstances. Also great that Max will be ok as far as we know. He was always a great racer but has also matured into a likeable bloke. Did I just say that?

Interesting the differing views, I did think Lewis overtaking Le Clerc at Copse really was sweet though and was done to stop Christian Horner moaning grin2

I can't believe you said that either Kerry, I still see that arrogant look and manner he appears to have inherited from his father when he loses the ball, we'll see certainly his driving has calmed into a very effective tool this past year, I'm glad he appears to be unscathed after the shunt.

I thought the Lewis/Max spat was a racing incident, put two top ranking drivers driving wheel to wheel and you’re bound to get that sort of thing, they both want to win and it makes for great entertainment. Max is a great driver and I thought he was maturing but his later comments about Lewis being disrespectful and unsporting by celebrating a great victory whilst he was still in the hospital were rather childish. I was more amazed by Christian Horner repeatedly implying that Lewis had deliberately put Max’s life in danger, he obviously wants Lewis’s victory taken away from him. A Twitter post from him this evening apparently says “pleased with yourself Lewis?”.
I was surprised at how much airtime they gave Horner all weekend, seemed a little unfair to me.

The spectators certainly got their monies worth this weekend, I found the amount of air time given to Red Bull's view of the incidence out of balance, but put totally into context when Lewis overtook in the exact same spot......clearly he is a better, more capable racer than others that would not overtake on that corner The end result and win for Lewis was reflective of his skills and his determined drive in the closing stages of the race. One of the more exciting races so far this season.

Verstappen is probably still sitting in Northampton General Hospital A&E department awaiting his turn to be seen.. It took them fourteen hours when my mum went in..

What a great first lap. Hair raising racing..

Epic first lap
racing incident
Max had it coming
one time a competitor was going to push back just as hard as Max pushes
Lewis backed out, just not quite enough
Charles chose to finish rather than have an accident

... all of which informed by recalling Martin Brundle saying in the past that Senna put his car in places where you chose whether or not to have an accident.

Generally, the stewards seem to be trigger happy with penalties on racing incidents. It's a fine margin; they're the wrong side of it.

(& thankfully Max doesn't appear to be hurt)

I was there - cooking gently (not so gently actually) at Stowe corner in an uncovered grandstand, but enjoying every minute of a great day's racing! First visit to F1 live for many many years as TV provides such great coverage, but the sounds and atmosphere were fantastic and the historic parade brought great memories of how F1 used to sound! Racing incident to my mind, but still to catch the replays on catch-up to see the incident from all angles. Actually felt sorry for Leclerc for a moment - a very brief moment admittedly!
Still rehydrating 24 hrs on!

It is racing and Verstappen would behave in the same way, I think. So it was ok with me, but Hamilton’s behavior after the race and this massive crash was imho just bad and out of question. Showing some kind of humility, acting cool and being happy, that it was not him going into the wall would have been a better and adequate reaction. Even more, that Verstappen was at the hospital.

He asked "is Max Ok" after the crash, and was told "he is out of the car", it is quite probable that during his celebrations at the end of the race he was unaware that Max was still in hospital. I also cannot imagine what the adrenalin rush is like after a race like that..
