Last week I purchased an outside light via the John Lewis website. The following day the light went into their Black Friday sale reduced by over £15. I knew they had a price promise (Never Knowingly Undersold) so this morning I completed their on-line refund form claiming back the difference. Within a matter of hours I received a confirmation email saying that the refund would be with me within 5 days. How's that for a quick turnaround?

Beats me waiting for my DVLA refund, after 7 months they wrote to say they were now processing my claim, after 9 months from my posting the documents to them they have written to say my claim is successful and they will issue a cheque in 6-8 week!
I know they are working to rule but this is taking the pi**. If I tried that when it comes to my tax renewal I know I would be prosecuted!
As my old dad used to say ‘I wouldn’t pay them with Tap Washers’.

Work out the interest over the period and stuff them (DVLA) with an invoice just for the bu88eration and inconvenience, when they owed me back tax the IR sent the refund plus interest..

I agree, and if they don't pay threaten to take them to court. They would probably do nothing and fail to appear, which automatically means they lose and you can pass the problem to debt collectors. Pointless, but satisfying if the media can be involved.....
