Hi all,

some news from my Plus 8...
During so called winter i was driving about 500km. The Morgan got always very hot. Moving the licence plate up
did't help really much. Wanted to install a cowl box, but they are hard to find. Maybe i get one from Belmog when
they get re-produced.

Last week i've installed a new radiator from Simon, including a new thermostat. First strange thing, someone took
out the thermostat, removed all the stuff inside and put back only the metal housing. According GOMOG not really
a good idea.
After two testdrives with the new radiator and the thermostat it looks like i have a "cool car" now grin2
Max temp. 90 degrees.

Over wintertime i replaced the old plastic covers for the door lock, added chassis rail covers and some protection
panels at the side (dont know the name at the moment). In addition i removed the bumper and installed overriders
(for bumper cars) and the original orange indicator lenses. Now it is very close to the delivery look.

With the new radiator - and the 8 on the mesh

Last things planned for next two weeks: New tires and a new Moto Lita steering wheel. The LeCarre loses the clear coat
and is a bit rough.

Now out for a run - sunny 18 degrees sunny

Hello Andreas,

just read your story. Congratulations as well, from Morgan Park in Hamburg.
I would like to give you a small advice to your 20 seconds hood. On one picture in your post of the 16/12/2021 it is visible, that you don`t fold your hood correctly. You should pull the hood (area from above the sidescreens) out to the
back of the car. The way you fold it down the hood can be damaged by the hood rails, which sometimes work like a scissor. We saw many hoods which received a damage by folding the hood down this way.
Have a good time with your new Plus 8 Anniversary. Those are the last built Plus 8`s with Rover V 8 engine.
Kind regrads
Frank from Morgan Park

True pull it out and then tuck it under, works much better and you need to do this if fitting a hood cover.

Thanks for the hint!!!

I will change it immediately. The Mog had already a damage on the hood when i bought it.
Think one day when i have some money left i will invest in a new mohair hood. But at the
moment it is ok for me.

@Franky: If you read this - do you have a solution at Morgan Park for sunvisors? The rail
from the hood that is fixed on the windscreen is one piece without any gap / slot to fix sunvisors.
it is only one straight part...

Andreas,
Re sun visors, we fitted a 100mm deep graduated black sun strip which is very effective.
A £5 solution!
