I am told that the throttle body for the S&S Super E is the same config as the x-wedge. Has anyone tried to fit this stealth kit? The backing plate would work...are there mods that would have to be done to make it work? https://www.sscycle.com/products/st...er-e-g-carburetor-or-52mm-throttle-body/

The car cleaner you provided a link to looks to mount directly to the (Harley) cylinder heads, while the x-wedge version has link brackets for mounting. Perhaps you could contrive a suitable mounting arrangement. It does appear the throttle body mounting is the same. You do need solid mounting to the heads, as simply mounting by the three screws on the throttle body can cause put undue strain on the intake manifold gaskets creating leaks there.

Here are the S&S numbers for these individual parts. Part 9 is 170-0202 ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/12/30/shot-2-stealth.png)

The universal looks like the better choice. The brackets are just flat steel, with spacers or washers required for the rear (right) cylinder head, so easy to fabricate. You will still need the cover of your choice.
If your goal is better airflow, you can mod the factory air cleaner by enlarging the lower cutout and reducing the diameter of the backplate to match the OD of the air filter element. The factory filter element is actually larger than the so called high performance one, it just needs a little help in exposing the element.

If you could get a Stinger into a G56 cover you would have a pretty good filter.

Is there a simple replacement for the stock filter cover? Something in chrome would look a bit better than the flat-black stock item.
