Never a dull moment with a Morgan is there - got to admit, I'm loving it.

My latest problem is a small leak around the drainage plug - I've tightened it as far as I feel comfortable and was wondering if anyone has any advice on whether there are safe ways to remedy this.

Is there such a thing as fuel safe plumbers tape for example ? (don't forget I'm still a mechanical novice)

I see there are products on the market but I'd love to get some personal recommendations.

I was surprised when I removed the plug - wanted to make sure it was inserted straight that there wasn't any kind of washer.

Thanks,

Rob

I'm sure plumbers PTFE tape would work, it wouldn't come into contact with the fuel anyway, probably (?)

Yep, I removed the drain plug on my GL1000 tank and it started to leak.

I used liquid PTFE/thread sealant as didn't want the risk of thin bits of tape making its way into the fuel system.

Fuel proof thread sealant and similar Dowty washer (as below) under drain plug should sort it.

As always, thank you for your help and great suggestions and another term, 'Dowty washer' added to my vocabulary

I decided to go with this permatex 80019 aviation forma-a-gasket No3 sealant in case it helps anyone else.
