Looks like our Morgan’s are all a little different. I chose this battery because the basic electrical requirements were there and the dimensions of the battery and type of terminal are similar to the original Banner ( biggest reason ). So easy swap without having to modify something.

Good luck with the battery. Haven’t had any problem with mine. I do keep it charged during hibernation.

Nice to hear from you again Ken.

Good to hear from you too. I keep “Mo” on a Battery Tender whenever she’s parked. That original Banner battery lasted six years!

That Yuasa has round terminals,my car has bolt on terminals. I got a Yuasa UR1 bolt terminal but at a 45deg angle so had to ease the harness a bit.

I decided not to procrastinate any longer, and I have a Bosch Silver Plus due for delivery today (same as the one that's been in the car since May 2014). There is a spur on the +ve lead, with a rectangular black-cased item that is a real "wotzit" for me. Any ideas what it's for ?

That's a main fuse Peter on your Roadster (this being M3W section!). There is typically a split at or near the positive battery connection allowing two high current cables running forward under r/h door, one direct to starter unfused and the other to distribution post behind that side of dash with the high current inline fuse shown in your picture close to battery.

Ooops not sure how I managed the transposition to M3W....Anyhow thanks Richard for the info, hope that never blows. I'll have a bit of a clean-up in that area while I'm at it. BTW the Bosch battery cost a bit less than the previous one did 8 years ago, thanks to for the various recommendations on TM for Tayna.

Great battery... I had a lithium one before this that swelled up and at the end of the day I think lithium are just too unstable and I have a bunch of them with all the model airplanes, quads, etc. Just not for my Morgan. The interstate is a champ for sure.

Isn't swelling a sign of overcharging on Li? Modern regulators should not be an issue with Li (unlike older bikes like my early wings). But you have to have a Li trickle charger, not a regular lead acid one.
