All suggestions please. I started the job and have fallen at the first hurdle. Can’t remove nut to get the fuel filter out cos it moves so far then just spins. I can feel the nut on the back spinning but can’t get at it to unscrew properly.

Is this a remove the back seat job? If yes I can see the four bolts that need to be removed. Once removed is it then free at is something else holding it?

You shouldn't need to remove the fuel filter, there is a clamping strap around it with one screw top left of this picture.

You just need to slacken the filter clamp so that the filter will slide away from the fuel pump to allow the two fuel hoses to be released from the top of the fuel pump. Ignore the push tab to release caption as it is the other end of the hose you need to release.

Hello Rog - if only mine were that simple. The band around it is screwed top and bottom to a metal plate to the rear of the seat. There is no such screw anywhere along the band. Not to worry I managed to unscrew the top one now after many hours of struggling. I'll get there

Well I finally did it. Now at 58psi instead of the 50psi before the job. Started almost immediately unlike the previous 3 months. Test drive tomorrow morning so fingers crossed it's all sorted now.

Hi, I am looking at upgrading my fuel pump and like to research and know what to do before I get there, so my first question is about the black plastic 2 part cover, does this come off in one go together or does it need separating to remove, mine looks to be siliconed together but looks to be loose from anything else ie no other silicone sealing it to the body

It needs to be separated into the two parts. Use a blade to cut through the silicone. You can then remove the smaller part first, the larger part on some cars can be a bit fiddly as the flange can get trapped by the wooden frame.
