and further more, I sent a tracked parcel to friend in England last month and had an email to say that it had been safely delivered, together with a photo of the parcel by her door.Except that it wasn't her door, not even her house and one could see on the accompanying map that it wasn't. However the delivery company would not accept this . These things do in fact happen. We sent a parcel last week to Los Angeles and payed two hundred pounds to ensure that it reached the customer in forty eight hours: six days later it is still in Brive, France. Chronopost by the way for our French members.

I must admit that reading all these problems, I consider myself to be very lucky with my deliveries ( which are mostly only wine ) by Yodel. They arrive within a 2 hour period, are tracked and I get to chat to Rob every time.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

Nick, You are entitled to think so but..... Hi Nick, I had a little think about this and...our post box ( in France it often is just that, a metal box, sometimes propped on a wall ), is let into the gable end of our fifty two foot barn, Our house lies further on behind the barn and my guess is that the delivery person didn't look very hard for the house - we have often referred to it as the hidden house - or was pressed for time, who knows. However the story has its funny side although actually getting the package delivered to us turned out to be another convoluted story.

Received a parcel yesterday that was cleared from customs 5 days previously. It signalled as out for deliver at about 10 am and then that it had been delivered at 10:45. I made multiple attempts to contact the depot of the Italian post office courier but no one answered the phone. At 4:45 in the afternoon Alis's daughter who was outside with the dog called out to ask if I was expecting a courier. He was already walking away with the packet in his hand and came back when I called. When I asked why it had been signalled as delivered 6 hours previously it seemed that he had very little Italian (South American at a guess - how they even get an Italian driver's licence is beyond me). Basically if you pay peanuts you get monkeys! And this is despite a fairly high level of unemployment - it seems that no one but the lowest qualified wants these jobs and they are often taken by migrants on short term contracts. The result of this is that even if they are reasonable they just get to know the run and their contract is terminated so you get another who tries to do the job following Google Maps navigator. So it is not just the UK it seems to be a universal problem

Peter the "no speaky language" issue is easy to check. Swear at them without raising your voice in Italian and see if they respond!
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
