Just went to ASDA to do some shopping, had a job getting out of the car park due to having 4 different couples wanting to talk about the car. The price or keeping a wonderful car, it happens. We went to the local (ish) pub and exactly the same. Oh, and enjoy!

Short trip today to the Haynes motor museum in Somerset from our base near Sherborne, Dorset on second full day of FolkMog holiday. Have to say I've never visited such a smart museum of any kind. A £7m payout on the sale of Haynes publishing plus the Covid closures allowed a complete rebuild of museum buildings and car parks. Not just the building, layout and lighting but the presentation of cars themselves which get polished on regular rotation. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/FbDVxnP.jpg) Particularly enjoyed the red room which included a wide range of performance cars including two Morgan's, a 30's JAP engined three wheeler and a +8. Favourite in this area was an XKSS with purposeful external rivets, albeit a replica. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/luW815h.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/3aRQ9HM.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/K9CdZZF.jpg) Lesser marques were covered as well. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/p2t5kW7.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/eH3DuH9.jpg) Halls dedicated to Ferrari and Williams race cars and finally this large hall dedicated to American Classics including a Duesenberg. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/ZUPg7nN.jpeg)

Richard agreed it is a great place. On the TM visit arranged by Rich we saw the workshops behind which were rebuilding customers cars, that is well worth a visit.

Over a metre long I here or was that the hotdog? Certainly of significant size. Maybe the Member of the Inner Circle who devoured said sausage roll, will clarify? Bud 4/4 - Stanley

We just got back from two weeks of visiting friends and family and general sightseeing around Scotland and the north of England. I forgot to check the odometer but adding up the stages gives about 1300 miles. Great fun but the long bonnet doesn't help with sharp crests on winding single track roads. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/06/27/The-road-to-Gairloch.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/06/27/Cromarty-ferry.jpg)

Run up to Beamish for the Mog event. Departed at 7.30 and we were amazed to find the A1 so clear. Under two hours to get there and about 115 miles.
Left just before 3.30, and surprise surprise, the A1 was free running and not busy. After the M1 split it got really deserted because it was blocked between J35 and 34. We get off at 37, before the blockage heading South, so we've never had such good A1 experiences before on a summer Saturday'
The Mog Event was well attended. Beamish is well worth a visit although the main town was heaving. A great day out. We all noticed you escaping just as the concours winners photographs were being taken. At least the other judges were photogenic. The yellow car rather gave the game away.
