Thanks. The hamper was empty apart from the crockery, cutlery and glasses. But everyone said it was the finishing touch, the icing on the cake!

We had a lovely jaunt to Pakenham water mill which had a heritage open day with craft stalls and a bbq. Great to see the flour being milled. It's allegedly the only place where you can see a working wind mill and water mill from the same spot. The Morgan drew some interest... I was surprised that there were only a couple of classic cars there.

150 miles home from Portsmouth. That's 2620 miles in total for the tour, and the Roadster behaved impeccably aside from the shift stiffening up again. The suspension took quite a hammering from some of the surfaces to which the satnav subjected it but it is still in one piece.

274 miles home from western Cumbria. Started well. Then the ********* M6!
Closed southbound between J33 to J32. Traffic being diverted off onto A6. Getting to that was slow due to 3 lanes merging to one at the exit. First mile in the queue on the M-way took 90 mins. The A6 was bumper to bumper. We lost 3 1/2 hours. Apparently it was a planned closure for bridge maintenance. I reckon clearing the central barrier to get southbound onto the northbound with lane management would have been better. 2 lanes each way at reduced speed would have kept traffic moving. A day to clear the barrier for 50-100m then cones and lanes altered. The towns/villages on the A6 were clogged. Diversion route was well signposted but just clogged up.
On rejoining the M6 at J32 we called in at the next services for a bladder stop and a drink. Then a no stop drive back across on M56 and down through mid Wales. Roof down even in light rain.
We had gone up to Morgans at Windermere then on to Loch Lomond area. Back to Cumbria for a couple of days en route home. Enjoyed the trip apart from the M6. The journey up was slowed by traffic. The usual congestion bunching up and on stop a few times.
Already booked the hotel for next year so will look at alternative routes just in case. Getting away from the diverted traffic is the aim.
Tomorrow... cleaning the car.

The M6 is always clogged. I haven't used it for years, but the last time I did NCP was installing parking meters along the central reservation.

It was a car park 20 years ago when I had to travel to Scotland on business regularly - the only way we entertain travelling through and enjoying Scotland is with a fly drive arrangement. My good lady is not a fan of passengering or driving the Plus 8 anyway and she is quite happy driving anything Hertz can conjure up to tour the hills in.

Great sunny drive (despite the gloomy forecast)with other local Mog owners to view the new NZ Morgan dealer, sparkling new showroom and three brand new Plus Fours to feast our eyes on. A very positive sign for NZ to have a dealer who is engaged with the brand and keen to promote it.Followed by a fun drive through the south east to a vineyard that none of us had visited before for a convivial lunch, I took the long way home to catch the last Aussie Supercars race at Pukekohe circuit.Really must learn how to post pics.

Today started with a 60 mile drive to an autocross event at a county fairgrounds parking lot. There were about 60 cars that turned up, mostly Mazda MX-5 Miatas. There was one Lotus Elise, a couple of Alfas, and a smattering of Corvettes and BMW M3s. The rest was what you might call a "hot hatch." I was assigned to the third heat. To make a long story short, after my first of eight runs, an uncomfortably close (<1km) bolt of lightning shut down the remainder of the event. There was a mad scramble to pack up and get going before the skies opened up.

A 120-mile round trip for one lousy warmup run. Still, the car ran well, and the warmup run was enough to trounce the best of the eight runs posted by a 240Z.

What tire pressure are you running for autocrosses?

Only managed 33 miles to Asda for the weekly shop (it just fits) and lunch at the Parlour in Burnham -on- Crouch.
