With the wheel out the way, it makes sense to tackle the intermittent stuck key in the ignition with a replacement from G.E.E, replace the pitted windscreen with some new laminated (though not heated) glass, and finish off the heated seats with placement of relays and wiring; just hope I can put it all back together for the Edinburgh trial in October!
Surprisingly simple to extract and deglaze the windscreen.
Well done for having a go, last time it took me ages to get a really neat job of the rubber seals, and then a week later the new glass cracked across a corner whilst just sitting in the garage

Seems there's plenty of watchpoints to look out for. On mine, both screen retaining screws are the same length, although i've coded them to be safe. Also only one brass screw each side for the frame. Minimum goop in the channel too. Off to the glaziers with it today, so hopefully back in on the weekend. Terry's a great source of knowledge and tips- I don't think I'd tackle half these things without his guidance. He's als repairing my boss to retain as a spare, and supplying a new ignition mechanism. Highly recommend him for all things Morgan, from chassis up.

If this is a road going car, a heated screen is a requirement under construction and use regs if there are no heater screen vents.

Is that one of those laws that has a 'applicable after date' - mine has neither. EDIT - just had a look at construction and use regs and couldn't see any reference to heated screens or demisters - can you advise?

If this is a road going car, a heated screen is a requirement under construction and use regs if there are no heater screen vents. Being extremely pedantic, a heated screen is not a requirement, but there is I believe a requirement for demisting IF a screen is fitted. Normally only a concern if trying to get a Caterham etc through IVA. I wouldn't have thought anyone would ever worry about it on an already registered car, its not an MOT item. COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 672/2010 of 27 July 2010 concerning type-approval requirements for windscreen defrosting and demisting systems of certain motor vehicles and implementing Regulation (EC) No 661/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning type-approval requirements for the general safety of motor vehicles, their trailers and systems, components and separate technical units intended therefor

TBM ... seem to remember that wipers aren't compulsory if you have a folding screen ... would guess the same for demisters .... if you get stopped tell them that if it gets fogged you'll just fold it down and grit your teeth!! 🙂
