As a Yorkshireman I would never pay much for driving shoes, but those who have been on TM may remember that when Piloti went bust a few years ago, new stock appeared on E Bay at stupid cheap prices. Because I'm size 6 this also helped a lot. So I got two black pairs, a red pair, and a grey pair. I don't remember the exact prices, but I think the red ones were about £15. The black ones a bit more. So I'm covered!!

I wear a pair of Puma sneakers. They fit between the brake and clutch pedals so I can almost stretch out.

They look lovely. They look a lot better value for money than some of the popular brands. Really? Are you saying that you would exect to pay even more for some casual shoes? With unusually broad feet I have little choice in footwear. I use a pair of Grenson Mocassins for driving

Ditto Keith! Sparco for me as I can then rest my foot between clutch and brake pedals 😊

I usually wear whatever I will be walking about in, apart from one pair of shoes with big soles and dedicated walking boots. I do have a pair of leather trainer( ish) style shoes that bought over 20 years ago. Can’t remember the brand but it was not an up-market designer one. Really comfy, feel like slippers. The soles have surprised me for low wear, yes a bit thinner now but still plenty to go.I never expected them to be still good for a long time at this stage. Walking on rough ground in them ( hardcore) is the only less than good feel now. A bit of a Trigger’s Broom though with laces and replaced off the shelf insoles.

Dont driving shoes come into the same category as string backed gloves, reversed flat cap, or for Morganeers the biggles sheepskin flying jacket?

In a cramped footwell, people with Hobbit feet need all the help they can get.

In a cramped footwell, people with Hobbit feet need all the help they can get. Exactly Dave! My old '76 (4 speed box) had reasonable footwell space so I didn't need different footwear. Later 5 speed footwells are much narrower, requiring narrow footwear. PITA having to change shoes to drive, but just another part of the Morgan driving experience.
