I’m wanting to swap out the standard brake bleed nipples for stainless alternatives. I can’t find any off the shelf kits only singles and pairs. Issue is that I need to know the size (I know I could measure them but I’d like to order in advanced). I know the early ones are 3/8 at the front but I’ve no info on the rears also would they have switched to metric by 1994 (plus 4). Grateful for any help on sizes or kits

I've just done exactly that for the front, Caparo callipers on my 2011 4/4 I found some titanium ones from Nipple part TBNM101BR, seems to fit. Good luck. Please let us know if you find any for the rear cylinders.

I can't find my 'don't mix metals' chart, but I always thought mild steel (cast iron) and threaded stainless shouldn't be mixed ?

I can't find my 'don't mix metals' chart, but I always thought mild steel (cast iron) and threaded stainless shouldn't be mixed ? Yes, although galvanic corrosion can take place between cast iron and stainless steel, the fact that the stainless part is so much smaller than the iron part and contact interface is so minimal, then in practice it is unlikely to cause a problem. (Note: I am not a metallurgist, just a googler!)

Not sure there is any benefit in changing them to stainless steel.
A dab of copper grease on the threads of the mild steel ones is sufficient to stop them seizing up.
Also there are some very badly machined ones out there which don't seal up properly

I agree with Arwyn 100%. There is no benefit and it could cause problems down the line.

Don’t mix stainless with alloy, you’ll get corrosion or seizure
